Whether we live and work in Barnet or travel to the ends of the earth, as Christians our mission is to fulfil the Great Commission, by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ wherever God has put us.

Christ Church is committed to supporting a number of people and organisations, partnering with them and giving prayerful and financial support as they work to share the Gospel and themselves support other Christians in the UK or overseas.
Bettaway Community Church Delft, South Africa
We are Clive, Glenda, Daniel, and Jessica McMinn, serving at Bettaway Community Church in Delft, Cape Town since 2000. Despite its reputation as a "god-forsaken place," our ministry is deeply rooted in outreach. Here’s what we do:
• Sunday morning services are attended by 120 adults, 40 high school learners (Youth Ministry), and approximately 100 children (Kids Church).
• Poverty Relief Fund Grocery voucher program was designed to provide crucial support to vulnerable families. These vouchers not only alleviate immediate hunger but also empower families to choose nutritious options that suit their needs. The initiative has now expanded to include additional services like medical assistance and housing support. Cape Town's winters are particularly severe, with wet, damp, and chilly conditions posing significant challenges for those living in informal settlements. Many residents rely on thin walls and makeshift roofs that offer little protection against the elements. To address this, winter-proofing efforts have been implemented, which involve enhancing the insulation and overall structural integrity of these shacks.
The McMinns, Delft SA
• Bettaway Learning Support Centre When we launched the BLSC we welcomed approximately 17 students, we now serve a vibrant community of about 80 primary and high school students. Students receive valuable assistance with their schoolwork, which helps them build confidence and competence in their academic abilities. Our program is managed by qualified teachers and dedicated community volunteers, who work together to create a nurturing, safe, and supportive academic environment. This approach allows children to address their immediate educational needs and also develop a love for learning and a sense of belonging within the community. A crucial factor in our success, particularly for our high school students, has been the provision of access to WiFi and internet support.
Open Doors Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors helps the church to pray, give and speak out for those who share our faith but not our freedom.

We are Danny and Rachel John and have four children - Mim, Sam, Sarah & Jake. We have a background of working for several years in India and Uganda with various organisations seeking to alleviate poverty, teach and demonstrate the love of God practically among the marginalised. However in February 2025 we moved to Chaing Mai, Thailand. It has been a two-year-long process with prayers, discussions and a visit to Chiang Mai last February confirming that God was guiding us to take this step in obedience and faith. We always felt we would return to Asia in some mission capacity once our kids had grown up!
The Johns, Care2Share
Ideally, we would have loved to go back and live and minister in India but with the current political situation, it has become clearer that it would not work out as we are self-supported Christian workers.
While we are away in Thailand our boys Sam and Jake stay in our home as they work nearby. We are grateful to God for our four children who are fully behind us and have allowed us to do what the Lord has put in our hearts for the next season.
Where and what?! We are moving to Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand to work with Joy to the World Foundation, which works with young people providing ways to prevent them from being trafficked which is an enormous problem there. We will be living and working in one of their projects - Breanna's House of Joy which provides a safe place for girls to grow up in a Christian environment, providing them with a place for healing, and counselling also enables them to access education.
Chris and Hannah Scutt have been serving at the base in Blantyre in Malawi for more than 11 years. Chris’s mission focus (based on his past experience in Education and ICT industry), is leading the Educating for Life Teacher Training Development programme, where he carries out training and educational projects in Malawi, Uganda and Zambia and works with educators in Tanzania and Zimbabwe, developing leaders and mentoring young people. In addition, he engages as a consultant, assisting a number of NGO's with ICT support, service development, websites and hosting, e-mail and Mobile Application Development, which help build infrastructure in more remote parts of Malawi, and is studying part-time for an ExecMAL in Pioneering Leadership - a two-year programme that will help him develop his leadership abilities. Aside from the full-time role of bringing up three young children (Caleb, Lily and Josiah), Hannah’s passion has been in healthcare, particularly with young women and mothers. After assisting at several births locally, she is praying into the vision of a Christian Birthing Centre.

Secondly, they aim to reach vulnerable women with the life-transforming good news of Jesus Christ. Poverty has driven many women to make bad decisions. Through friendship, evangelism, discipleship, training and helping them start small businesses, they aim to see many women discovering the love, hope and freedom of Jesus. Through their team of Malagasy volunteers and staff they are bringing light to very dark places and praying for lasting change in the lives of these precious women.

AIM Madagascar
The Desboroughs (Simon, Miriam and Sienna) have been serving in Madagascar since January 2023. They are raising awareness among Malagasy churches and denominations of the need for world evangelisation and how Malagasy nationals can get involved in God’s Great Commission. They are finding passionate believers and helping to train and empower them to take the next step into cross-cultural mission.
They are also establishing AIM as a mission sending agency in Antananarivo, with mobilisation hubs around the country to assist churches with the logistics and practical steps to help send prospective missionaries. Their desire is to see biblically grounded, church-supported and financially sustainable Malagasy missionaries.
